Lapiz Lazuli has been mined in Afghanistan for over 6,000 years and has been prized since ancient times for its intensely blue color. This lovely teardrop-shaped Lapis cabochon measures 42mm long and 23mm wide at the widest point. It contains flecks of golden Pyrite and some very fine white Calcite veins. It is finished with flowing fringe, 4” long at the longest point, including freshwater pearl and faceted antique gold and cobalt blue glass bead accents. The necklace is made of Lapis Lazuli 8mm beads in slightly lighter shades of blue, 22” long including the Swarovski crystal button and loop closure. It is highlighted with faceted bronze metallic glass beads and Pyrite disc-shaped beads.
