Beaded Jewelry Necklaces by Carolyn

Here is a necklace made with a cabochon of Stefoinite Jasper, which is very, very rare. This stone was discovered in Wyoming by a man named Rudy Stefoin, probably back in the 1950’s, and he took its location to the grave with him. Stefoinite is a brecciated jasper and it is a warm caramel brown with dark brown to black webbing and bluish agate veins running through it. This 30mm by 40mm cabochon is completed with long, showy fringe, 5” at the longest point, highlighted with Swarovski crystals. The necklace is 24” long, including the button and loop closure, and made with Smoky Quartz rectangles and faceted Smoky Quartz beads in graduated colors.

Spectrolite is a rare form of Labradorite, mainly found in Finland. It has an amazing schiller, or sheen and play of color, when turned in the light, as displayed in this kite-shaped cabochon. It is 45mm long and 26mm wide at the widest point, beaded in colors to bring out the natural beauty of the stone and finished with long fringe, 4” at the longest point. The fringe is accented with Swarovski crystals and soft aqua and faceted sparkling glass beads. It has an attached beaded necklace accented with the same beads as the fringe and measures 22” in length, including the glass button and loop closure.

This necklace is made from a Russian Lacquer brooch, which I made into a cabochon by removing the pin back and encircling with beadwork in colors to pick up the colors in the Troika scene. The hand-painted scene measures 50mm and is enhanced with sparkling fringe, 3 ½” long at the longest point. It contains AB2X Swarovski crystals, which are wonderfully light-reflective, and 30mm long gold glass bugle beads. The necklace is a spiral rope chain 27” long, in black with blue core beads, accented with numerous AB2X Swarovski crystals and 4mm cobalt blue glass beads, and completed with an ornate metal button and loop closure.

Rhodochrosite is a lovely stone, filled with shades of pink and white with banded patterning. The cabochon in this necklace is a very showy 52mm by 37mm oval. The necklace is 22” long, made from Rhodochrosite beads with accents of Swarovski crystals and Ice Flake Quartz rounds. It is finished with a Swarovski crystal button and loop closure.

Here is a necklace filled with cool, mossy colors and patterns. The Rainforest Jasper cabochon measures 30mm by 40mm and is beaded in graduated colors that pick up the range of greens, golds and browns in the stone. It is completed with branched fringe, accented with citrine and peridot chips. The necklace is made of 4mm by 13mm Moss Agate cylinder beads with Unakite rounds and metallic glass bicone beads. It is 22” long, including the vintage button and loop closure.

A beautiful cabochon of Graveyard Point Plume Agate is the focal point of this necklace. The kite shaped stone is 50mm long and 30mm wide at the widest point. It has lavish fringe, including freshwater pearls, Swarovski crystals and Austrian crystal beads. The fringe is 4 ¾” at the longest point. The necklace beads are Tiger Eye square tube beads, 4mm by 10mm, with more Swarovski crystal and Austrian crystal accents. The necklace itself is 26 1/2” long, including the ornate vintage metal button and loop closure. This Plume Agate is absolutely gorgeous – it looks like an underwater scene with feathery white and golden plumes waving in a translucent sea that must be seen to truly appreciate its depth.
